This is a description of the products and services that Sublign design offers customers and collaborators.
Sublign already has an extensive portfolio dealing with digital artworks and this portfolio is growing rapidly in order to cover a wider range of products and services. Below we have a list of the products and services that we offer moving forward. We offer a description of the individual products and services, how we operate regarding intellectual property rights and a ballpark figure of how much we charge. The figures stated below are not exact figures and to agree upon a valid deal you have to contact us. Nothing is agreed until Sublign officially agrees on the deal. Within these pricing brackets the deals are negotiable unless clearly stated however, we will not negotiate below the base rates we have set. There are benefits to becoming a client such as a reduced hourly rate. Details are outlined below.
Initial consultation (optional)
Enjoy the benefits of an initial consultation. All commissioned projects taken on begin with this highly recommended consultation. Perhaps you have a design in mind and would like to see something upfront before you commit. For an initial £19.95 upfront fee the consultation will involve a designer producing up to three initial sketches or ideas. The project comes later, why not try before you buy. When a project is taken on then the consultation becomes absorbed into the fixed or final price.
Become a client
Become a client and enjoy a reduced tariff and priority service. As a client you get to enjoy some great benefits such as a personal designer taking care of all of your design work. This is subject to a monthly subscription fee of £14.95 applicable for one year. Over this time the tariff will be fixed at £14.95 per hour instead of £18.95 per hour.
As an added bonus, all initial consultations for future projects will also be free.
Digital art. (royalty based)
We already have a large collection of digital artworks available for sale through affiliate accounts like Artpal and Cafepress.
We have complex works for fine art and canvas prints and a growing collection of more simple designs suitable for clothing, bags and accessories. Those works already available are royalty based through larger sites and generally will all be available for associates to negotiate in terms of royalty deals.
The sites we use already have agreed royalty rates as their company standard. As regards independant business the royalty rates for those works are set between 2% and 5% of gross sales depending on the likely volume to reach the market.
A small company that expects to sell under 1,000 units will not be able to negotiate below the 5% bracket. If the product is successfully marketed and more units are produced. Let’s say for the sake of simplicity another 5,000 units then the 5% rate becomes negotiable and a new agreement can be established in it’s place. That seems like a win win deal to us.
For ‘to be produced’ designs different agreements can be made to suit the nature of the deal.
We are open to royalty based agreements set at royalty rates between 2% and 5% of gross sales depending on the likely volume to reach the market. However, we do not simply provide a design and hope it will reach the market. All designs produced for clients will involve a non refundable advanced commission fee negotiable between £150 and £400 per design. This negotiation is weighed against the potential of the deal.
A company wishes us to produce a handbag product with our designs and the number of units expected to sell initially stand at a high number like 20,000 units. The advanced commision fee is likey to be on the higher end since such a company would be mad to only approach one designer. However the royalty fee would lean towards the lower percentage region due to the higher potential amount of produced units. The opposite would be true for a smaller company which produced a lower number of units.
One off commision services on artwork are a service we offer only at our discretion. We are a busy new business and whether we accept such deals will depend entirely on our schedule, since our designer and founder (Richard North) already takes on a 50+ hour working week. For this reason we are only able to offer this service if time permits until such a point that we get other designers on board and obviously then if you prefer Richard to produce the work, it is still time permitting. On saying that, don’t be dissuaded by asking. Richard is more than happy to accomodate individual projects if possible.
Pricing for such projects are as stated.
The cost to produce the work in terms of materials.
The cost of packaging and shipping.
£18.95 pound per hour tariff (£14.95 as a client on projects below 12 hour estimates)
